RED FISH, RED FISH AND MORE RED FISH
Report Date: August 17, 2008
The last few days have been really good in Crystal River and its surrounding areas. The Red fish are being pushed back into shallow water by all the west wind. And the over cast days make it easy to catch them.It seems that every corner that you turn has a fish or two waiting to ambush unsuspecting baits.
I helped Mark Brady pre fish for a tournament this past friday. We had a great half day on the water. Dodging rain storms and fighting tides but we still managed to catch plenty of fish. Mark went back during the tournament on Saturday and did very well using a top water plugs he didn't place in the tournament but he should have apparently marks measuring tape is just a little longer than the tournament officials but he did tell me that he caught plenty of fish during the event.
On the other hand Capt. Justin Colman and I fished the same tournament. We didn't do as well as Mark And Joe as far as catching fish. I think all we caught was three all day but two of those fish where the wright ones to take second place. Not a bad day at all. We caught our fish on skitter walks and gulp jigs.
Earlier in the week I spent two days on the water with Jamie Woods And Kyle Harrison we also had two good days of fishing catching red fish and mangrove snapper. All in all the bite here never seems to stop. So give me a call and I guarantee that you will catch fish
