Florida Fishing Adventure will heat up as the weather cools down

Report Date: October 16, 2009

Mother Nature is playing games with the fishing on Florida’s nature coast . Normally this time of year we have had at least one good cold blast to get the fish moving towards there fall and winter time haunts . But that’s not the case this year. The unusually warm first two weeks in October seems to be keeping the fish from moving back into what should be shallower and warmer water. That should be full of bait. Pin fish small white baits and glass minnows are all over the place just waiting to be feasted upon by large sea trout and many other fish that will find there way to these areas to fatten up for the winter months.
Now that we are finally going to get some cooler weather for a few days the fishing on the nature coast should go off with a bang. Large schools of trout will start showing up in shallow water flats. Most of the fish that you’ll catch will be in the 14 to 17 inch range. But there will be some of them that will be 20 and better.
As the days get shorter the gag grouper will start to move into the inshore rocks from steinhatchee to chaz. Catching these fish will be a very exciting adventure. For anyone who wants to catch a big fish a keeper size grouper in shallow water is more then most people can handle but very rewarding.
Early November will bring a red fish bite that will be unbelievable the shallow oyster beds and mud flats in this area will most defiantly produce large numbers in the cooler months to come. So load up the family and join me on the water for a Florida fishing adventure you’ll never forget.
